Each year, the Propeller Club, Port of Norfolk, with our fellow clubs across the country, celebrates National Maritime Day. Established by Congress in 1933, National Maritime Day honors the work and contributions of past Merchant Seamen who endured the perils of the sea during times of war and peace, and celebrates and recognizes those who proudly carry on that tradition today.
This year’s commemorative event, which will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, May 22 at the Decker Half Moon Center at Nauticus. It will include the laying of a memorial wreath and an informal reception with live music, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, the dress for this event is Business. We have the added pleasure this year of tours of Military Sealift Command's Vessel the USNS Medgar Evers (T-AKE 13). In the past, over 250 people have attended. Please have a valid ID available to present at the gate. We are pleased to offer Valet Parking this year!
In addition to your participation, we would greatly appreciate your financial support as a sponsor of National Maritime Day 2017. Please understand that tickets purchased are a financial commitment and refunds will not be issued, thank you.
Huge Thank You to our Sponsors:
